The Galaxy S8+ combined Samsung's iconic Infinity Display with a large 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, excellent battery life, and flagship performance for its time. However, it is now far beyond its software support lifecycle and no longer receives Android OS upgrades or security updates. We no longer recommend the Galaxy S8+ in 2026. Instead, we recommend the Galaxy S23+, which supports the latest One UI 9 (Android 17) and continues to receive security updates. With a larger 120Hz display, faster performance, 5G connectivity, improved cameras, and years of software support remaining, the Galaxy S23+ is a much better long-term choice.
