The Galaxy S22 Ultra combined the best of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series with its built-in S Pen, stunning 6.8-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200 processor, and advanced quad-camera system. However, Samsung has ended Android OS upgrades for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so it does not support the latest One UI 9 (Android 17). While it will continue receiving quarterly security updates for a limited time, those updates are expected to end in early 2027. We no longer recommend the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2026. Instead, we recommend the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which supports One UI 9 (Android 17) and offers a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, improved camera performance, better battery efficiency, and several more years of software and security updates, making it the better long-term investment.
