The Galaxy S22 remains a fast and capable flagship with its 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200 processor, 5G connectivity, and versatile triple-camera system. However, Samsung has ended Android OS upgrades for the Galaxy S22, so it does not support the latest One UI 9 (Android 17). While it will continue to receive quarterly security updates for a limited time, those updates are expected to end in early 2027. We no longer recommend the Galaxy S22 in 2026. Instead, we recommend the Galaxy S23, which supports One UI 9 (Android 17) and will continue receiving software and security updates for several more years, making it the better long-term value.
